Which Shocks?

My 95 Club Sport (70K) is still on its original dampers. One of the fronts has now stated to leak oil, so I suppose this is a good time to replace and upgrade. This front struts are not the type with the replaceable inserts.

I was thinking about the Koni Sport dampers., which would mean I would have to modify the front struts to take the inserts. This would mean that as I intend to use the car for the odd track day I would be able to adjust the shocks, although I believe that adjusting the rears shocks while they are on the car is not easy.

Is this the best way to go?? Any comments and advice from anyone who has experience with damper replacement would be gratefully received.

Don,

It really depends on your budget, and what use the car gets. On my sport I have Koni adjustable shocks on all around. It is not a difficult job to modify the front shocks and they are easy to adjust once on. The rears are a pain to adjust but left on medium/firm they are ok for daily use as well as good for track days.

If you are going to be more track focused then you have more options, KW, GAZ Bilstein but all are firmer and may compromise the ride more than you want.

For road use/daily use I am happy with the Koni's but the ride can still be a tad firm, but I think it is worth it as the handling is better than the standard shocks.

Thanks for the advice.
Have ordered Koni Sports which should be here next week. Car now up on axle stands and strut modification proceeding. Will let you know what it feels like " on the road" when the job is done.

Good luck with the Konis Don - I run KW3 on my Clubsport and I've found them to be very good. My old Sport had MO30 - very good as well.
