Which spacers should I get?

I want to fit late offset wheels to my early car.

I know this will require spacers.

Can you advice me on where to get them and on their size?

Your early offset car will probably have 7" wheels with an offset of 23. Later wheels tend to have an offset around 52 but can come in different widths such as 7" for the front and 8" or 9" for the rear.

So if it was a straight swap for 7" all round you would need 30mm spacers.

You can play around with the various widths and offsets using the tool on this site.

I will add they will need to be of the expensive type which have 5x new studs. You can probably get by, by using the extended studs and spacers from the rear of all series one 944s, but with the way prices are going and the comedy prices asked by home 'breakers' you may be as well buying two pairs of new spacers.

Early offset wheels are ET23 and late wheels are ET52 so as long as the wheel widths are the same you need 29mm spacers (30mm will do)

If however you are fitting slightly wider wheels as well then you need to recalculate.
