Which Track best for 2.5 Boxster

Hi

I am planning my 1st ever trackday.
As I am driving the least powerful Boxster (2.5) which track would be most suitable to exploit the handling rather than outright power/ top speed ? Which is most generous with run off areas ?
Had a look on "You Tube" and some look like very high speed runs ( e.g. Goodwood).
Not too keen at testing the handling limits at 100mph + so the lower avg top speed the better - gives us 2.5's a chance to keep up!

On my list:
Brands Hatch (Indy)
Goodwood
Castle Coombe
Silverstone

Many thanks for any assistance.[;)]

PS Sorry if this should be on Trackdays Forum.

If your worried about going off then Bedford.

Castle Combe, Donnington, Brands and Silverstone are all a blast in any Boxster.

Shortish bendy tracks are a great leveller and a 2.5 will hold its own at the Combe.

Hi Goofy,

I did my first ever trackday at Castle Combe for the PCGB Boxster Day in April. Absolutely bloody brilliant!!! I couldn't remove the stupid grin from my face for several days.

But it is a fast circuit. By the afternoon, I was reaching about 125 mph (Boxster 3.2S) at the top of Avon Rise and generally hurling the car into bends at speeds I didn't think were possible. I wasn't brave (or daft?) enough to turn off the PSM, however and I admit it was probably this, rather than pure driving ability which prevented a spin. If yours is an early car, it won't have PSM so be careful.

I had a few laps initially with a resident instructor (Ehrling Jensen) who was very helpful and I recommend this to anyone doing a trackday for the first time.

My next trackday will, hopefully, be at Oulton Park which is my local circuit. Best of luck.

bedford is great for a newbie nice big runoffs, then you can enjoy the next more difficult track with more confidence

Thanks guys for the re-assurance ! As you can imagine I was a bit nervous about driving my pride and joy without restraint. Can't wait to give it a go and shall be booking a pre-lim service. I will probably do Brands Hatch as it's closer and I have driven a single seater round there (once !) . See me on You Tube![:D]
