Which Tracker?

Can somebody pls advise, I have just bought a 2.5 and have got it insured , but as yet it is not covered for theft as a tracker is required.

Can you tell me which would be the cheapest tracker to fit which would be ok with the Ins. companies.

I am completely cleared out with the car + Insurance + clear light kit, so realy dont want one , so need the cheapest and if some1 can tell me prices that would be helpful, bit worried as not covered for theft as yet.

Find an insurance company that does'nt require you to have a tracker! And dont use tracker networks UK, they fit the thing in the same place every time!

I think the total cost is about £500 as you have to pay for the tracker, the installation and the subscription although you can pay the sub on a monthly basis.

Also, if you do get a tracking device, double check first with your insurance company before you organise it. There are some at the bottom end of the market that at least one insurance company doesn't value, and therefore won't accept it.

Thanks guys , the problem is that the only co. that will quote me without the tracker is norwich union - but that is £400 pound more than with the tracker - so i weighed it up and thought better to have it in the end as would pay that much for the tracker -- the access with Norwich was £650 whilst with tesco with a tracker its £350. Im going to ring around and try and get the cheapest i can , i know they are a waste of time , but dont want a policy for over a grand with £650 xcess. so mite aswell put it on - but if any1 else has one fitted that can advsie - i would be very greatful.

I Have a Navtrak unit fitted to my boxster S and pay an annual sub of 179 quid. The service from them has been 1st class and I have never had any problems with it. It was fitted when the car was delivered at the OPC by the original owner. Incidentially, I have insurance with Esure at around a grand, 500 excess - they do not require the tracker. In light of all the comments here about trackers being removed by thieves etc I am not sure I will renew the subsription for another year?!! Unless another insurance company can quote less of course.
