Hi All,

My tyres are on the way out, about 1000 miles in the front and 3000 for the backs.

I'm going to replace them all at the same time and they have the Pirelli P Zero's on them at the moment but i was wondering weather or not to change them??

I'd really appreciate your comments.

Regards

If you can live with the tramlining when part worn, and the relatively short life then stick with what you know. Michelin Pilot Sport are not quite as grippy in the wet bu wear a lot better and are a very good tyre. More expensive than Pirellis tho

I had changed all my Pirellis on my MY03 Boxster S to Michelins some 2 years ago for the following reasons:
- more miles than Pirellis
- being a Costco member, got the Mich at a very good price fully fitted.

Cons:
- Slightly more noisy on motorways than Pirellis but I have got use to that.
- They don't make 'N'-rated Mich Pilot Sports PS2 for our model; Have to use the original Mich Pilot Sports.

Given the apparent problems with availability of PS2, not sure this is a con. I've never had any problems sourcing the original version.

The original Pilot Sport will be available for several years to come and as long as 986s are running on the roads (I hope). The Mich guy explained that when they moved on to PS2 they and Porsche decided to invest in N rating PS2 for 996s (which originally came with the original Pilot Sport) but didn't feel it was worth doing it for 986s. So you can buy the exact size PS2 for 986 Boxsters now, but it would be the non Porsche N-Rated ones. All 997 and 987s are Mich PS2s from day one (I think)...

Thanks guys, appreciate your views.
i'll be changing them asap now, got a bit twitchy today in the rain, not great.
Thanks again
Steve
