while the exhausts off...

My C2's having its tappets done next week at a local specialist, plus the front ARB bushes I couldn't get to easilly, and the transmission fluid is being changed..

while the exhaust is off (apparently required for the tappet adjustment) is there anything else I should consider getting done? basically if he's taking the rocker covers and the exhaust system off I might as well get him to do anything else in that area which might also be due to save on duplicating labour..

The cars recently had an oil and filter change, and all the exhaust and rocker cover gaskets are getting replaced while its in bits for this set of work.. Its standard apart from suspension and de-cat, so if there are any dodgy little hoses or other perishables in there I should consider changing at the same time I might as well get it done now before winter set's in!!..

any advice greatfully received

Hi Ben,
Might be worth checking out the condition of the tin plate cover on the offside (everyone seems to refer to it as 'tinware'): I replaced the nearside one when the cat bypass was fitted and they are a swine to get at under any other circumstances. It may well be OK but its a good opportunity to check as they are inexpensive and straightforward to replace once everything is out of the way.
