Whirring whistling noise

Ever since I got my S2 I have noticed a distinctive whistling noise from the engine when its cold. It is still there when hot but not quite so noticable but maybe its less noticable because I first hear the engine in a confined space .It rises and falls exactly in line with the revs.

People say it sounds like a jet aircraft when it arrives.

My Lux always made a slight whistling noise which was perfectly normal for a 944lux . Its the air intake .

My S2 has a special open air filter under the valance apparently . ( never seen it) do you think it might be the same thing as the Lux ? just air being drawn in the air filter?
Does your 44 whistle ?

Mine doesn't. Yours sounds like some kind of induction noise - worth checking for obstructions / loose bits.

doesn't yours make any induction noise at all when accelerating ? have you got the standard air filter ? mine has an open paper filter can't remmber what they are called now.[EDIT K & N panel filter is what I was searching for doh !] Oh plus its chipped which may make a difference

Not so as you'd notice - everything seems to be drowned out by the SS exhaust.[:)]

Mine inlet is all standard, maybe your panel filter is a contributory factor.
