whistling aircon

Hi,

I've done a search here but couldn't find any clues to what I'm hearing..

The aircon has started to make a whistling sound from somewhere behind the passenger glove box. Sounds like a whistling kettle in the distance. It's persistent and utterly infuriating.

Car's with the OPC for 2 days so they can dismantle the dash to find it. The technician there said he'd not heard this before.

Anybody else had this?

Single tune, varying amplitude.

Car requires a completely new heater unit. This involves a complete dash removal. This items costs £913 plus 2 days labour so the OPC say. Covered on warranty of course.

I'm not letting this affect my liking of the car though. Just darned inconvenient. Being done on 26/3/07 & they're loaning me a V8 Cayenne thing.
