On Sunday Lincs and Humberside region enjoyed a drive to Whitby. 5 cars and 12 people made the journey north in convoy. That is once everyone had filled up on breakfast and coffee in the Little Chef at the meeting place. The morning started overcast but slowly the weather improved to a very nice sunny autumnal day by the time we reached Whitby.
Lunch was arranged at the Magpies Restaurant. We were very lucky to be granted a reservation because they usually have a no booking policy and on Sunday people were happily queuing along the street for lunch. The afternoon provided an opportunity for sightseeing and the chance to walk off the generous portions.
The return journey was by self navigation over the North York Moors, it proved delightful with the roof down.
Thanks to Pauline and Peter for arranging the day.
