White turbo for sale

Can't really see big reds - more likely repainted calipers. Looks really nice, other than the rear wiper doesn't park properly [8D]

Not only aren't they big reds, they aren't even reasonably big blacks painted red - they are just the standard 220 Turbo / S2 brakes painted red.

I don't see anything horrible about it if you like the wheels and colour combo and so long as you know it's a 220 not a 250. It's had the bridge spoiler and white dials fitted which might suggest some level of enthusiast ownership in the past. It's Alpine white rather than Grand Prix as advertised, but there were (virtually) no GP white 4 cylinder cars.

They have advertised it as having air-con therefore check it works as it has to now which is a bonus. I'd be pushing for 12 months ticket rather than 7 as it's coming from a dealer. Otherwise looks fine.

Only just noticed the detail pics.... [:)]

Standard calipers and a paint brush, as Fen said.

I once went to look at an S2 for sale by these people, the car was advertised as perfect etc, when I got there it was far from it. Before making a special trip I would ask for lots of information and some detailed pictures of it.

Not easy to see from the pictures, but I can't spot door rubbing strips, or any of the stoneguards (?).

Probably points towards a respray - which may not be a bad thing, but you would want to know.

I viewed a cab recently for someone on here that had been resprayed - they'd painted right over the original stoneguards, so they looked nice & blended in. [&:]

I absolutely hate those wheels personally, but others like them. The trouble is that car would have origially had "flat disc" wheels which are also awful so it needed them changed. There is however no excuse for Boxster wheels on a 944 ever IMO.

In terms of colour I like white, but unfortunately Alpine white is very creamy (anything but Alpine in fact) whereas GP is much whiter. A proper brilliant white 944 would be lovely - a creamy white one less so. Again all IMO.

At least it doesn't have burgundy interior, but having said that beige half leatherette and half velour is probably next worst of the available options.

Could be worse. I have seen 944's with 5-spoke boxster alloys, each of which split into two smaller spokes at the rim of the wheel.

I don't know what they are called, but they look worse still than those on the while turbo .... (IMHO, of course.)

Oh, and interior colours seem to be better or worse with the exterior colour. I imagine linen with a white exterior looks more beige than ever. (Although it looks OK with Baltic Blue - but then I would say that!)

Oli.

You know what I think I might go and get meself some Boxster alloys even though I don't like them either (I don't even like the Boxster much in the 1st place either really) but it would be funny to see fen have a heart attack over it when he sees them esspecially if I get some P6000s for them (why do BMWs seem to always have them I can never really work that out)

Staggering isn't it. When I bought my car it had full OPC service history from new but at some point it had been resprayed on some of the panels without removing the rubbing strips! Didn't notice until after taking them of since they went to the trouble of cutting the paint away and cleaning it up where the rubbing strip meets the panel.

I wouldn't worry Fen doesn't like me 968 16" cup ones either. ISTR the only wheel we all agree on is the 17" cup 1 ala 964RS.

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]Looks like it's deffo had a paint job ....

Not a bad thing in itself but you would want to know why and how well it's been done.

Classic car workshop has a good reputation locally, they are Porsche specialists - I have only heard good reports about them and know a couple of people who use them. If the deal includes them fixing what they find at the service it could be a good deal but, for what it's worth, the car looks painted to me too.
