Who can I trust?

After wanting one - praying for one - since I was a boy (some might say I still am) I finally bought myself a 944 Turbo, it's great, I love it to bits. However, it being almost as old as me it needs some attention now and again and again...but I expected that.

I've tried two mechanics and just haven't been impressed with their service, both in terms of customer care and fixing my car. 'Fix it yourself ' I hear you diehards scream, alas I have the mechanical ability of a small rabbit and also no time or space etc etc.

Basically can anyone recommend a trustworthy garage, preferably West end Glasgow that does mechanical and/or bodywork?

Thanks, I look forward to seeing some of you at some point.

Although out of Glasgow would recommend Motortune in Shotts (01501-822247 ask for Peter McAnna), he has looked after my 993 since I moved back to Scotland and is one of the best Porsche indies in the central Scotland.

There is also Geo Morrison Rutherglen 0141 643 1768 and RPM over in the North of the city sorry do not have the number.but has a good reputation

Recommendation for Motortune seconded.

Peter certainly knows 944's, will advise things than need attention and will argue against you if he feels work is not necessary.

Excellent, thanks for all your help, I especially like the sound of somebody arguing against work getting done!

Another plug for Peter at Motortune. It was a long trek down from Inverness- but well worth it. Whilst I was on holiday he transformed my 993, fitting new shocks and springs, RSR back boxes (ordered from Carnewal), pads and discs all round and one or two other bits and pieces. The trip back was a joy- my car now goes round corners and stops like it should- sounds pretty good too. I will certainly be using him again and can also recommend Gert at carnewal who handled my order very efficiently.
