Who has actually placed an order for the new Turbo S?

Plenty of interesting view points being expressed about the new car but my dealer says he has three cars that are sold and arriving in July so I can take a look in the flesh then. His allocation is then sold until the MY11 cars, so there can't be more than 50 or so cars around the UK I guess, maybe less. Anyone know or have an idea?

I have however put my deposit down anyway now.........so more or less committed

Yep

Seems about right. My OPC phoned today as I had expressed interest. 4 allocated to them this year only 1 left already, they are unsure as to how many if any they get allocated next year.

Pain really as I need work to pick up before I can put a deposit down, rats.............[]

Even though the car appears to be mostly a standard turbo with bundled options and a reprogrammed engine management system, Porsche will be keen to keep the model exclusive to keep the great unwashed like me at bay. MY11 buyers may well suffer another price increase, maybe 20% VAT as well and if Porsche ever try to align UK and German prices, the party will be seem a bit flat.

All depends I guess on what your view of the £-€ exchange rate in the future is. We might even have to thank the Greeks for keeping the euro down so that the GBP doesn't sink quite as fast.

Yes, I must confess, I have an 'S' for April/May build.

This is despite years of never really liking the Turbo models, and still having no interest or understanding of the fanaticism some people have for the performance figures.

All the best cars I've ever driven have felt great through the steering wheel, not the stop watch.

But, I do believe the latest model has a much broader appeal. I'll soon find out [&:]

Yes, I have a deposit down for a Turbo S.

August build for September delivery. To be dark blue metallic this time.

The only problem is that it comes with PDK and a manual box isn't offered. Oh well.

Might have to start buying British at this rate! ...new McLaren anyone?!

The Turbo S quite appeals to me but I feel as soon as Porshe bring out an 'S' it is a sign that it is the 'Run Out' model prior to the launch of the new version.

My 996 turbo S was a 'run Out' and my Cayenne GT'S' has only lasted 2 years before the new model just launched.

Once a new model is lauched it does seem to have an exagerated impact on the value of the 'Old' model.

My 997 Turbo will be 3 in September and I have the dilemma of whether to replace it with an 'S' assuming there will be a Cab version or whether to go for an Aston DBS cab.

Alternatively, I could immediately do nothing and wait for a 918 Spyder !!!
