Who here owns a Turbo2?

I'd be interested in hearing more about the turbo2 cars on display at Eynsham Hall last weekend.

And indeed from any of the other owners in the public carparks. I did chat to one or two, but there were several others.

I'll start the ball rolling:
Mine is a 1993 3.3 in black with 67K on the clock. I've done alot of work bringing it up to a good standard, and mods so far include cat bypass (very worthwhile), HID xenons (great), 3rd brakelight, red callipers, Blaupunkt stereo & satnav (not so good!). Although its cost me a lot, I love the car to bits and hope the costs will settle down to routine maintenance.

I do like the cat bypass sound, but want a bit more noise so I'm just about to install a wastegate bypass.

I'm interested to hear if anyone has fitted a second silencer bypass/sports exhaust?
I'm also interested in 1 bar spring, and lowering suspension springs.....

Hi 911 addict,

My name is Richard and i also own a Turbo2 i did see a few at Eynsham Hall at the weekend.

Mine is a 1991 Midnight Blue bought in 2004 standard apart from Antera 101 wheels (very heavy) which i want to replace so i am trying to source some Cup 1's at the moment and its been badged up as a 3.6 Turbo again previous owners.

I was thinking of talking to Ninemeister to upgrade to his exhaust header system and new turbo i wonder if this would make an awful lot of difference to performance,if anyone has had this done already i would not mind seeing and hearing it.

Whats the sound like with the cat bypass...??

It would be nice to have a T2 meet up just to see what mods people have done to their cars.

I have had the 1 bar boost spring fitted by JZ made a slight difference

Hi Richard,
Did you take the car to Eynsham?

We're very near eachother, I'm in Eastcote!
The cat sounds great. Here's a vid link: http://media.putfile.com/TurboScart2
The hotter it gets the more it sounds (especially pops).

How's the spring? How does it feel different to the standard?

Very keen to meet up, easy to arrange as we're so local. I'll pm you with my contacts.
Cheers.

Forgot to mention:
I don't have the 9miester headers myself, but have been in a 930 with them (and other stuff besides) and they add alot of HP (40?). Have seen on their website they are around ÂŁ2K which would seem a good mod. I've got new standard heat exchangers on mine (stainless) so replacing them just yet would be a bit wasteful I feel, but if you want the extra power.....

Yes took the car to Eynsham we stayed over and had the Gala Dinner and firework display which was very good.

Eastcote thats excellent.......just down the road yes please email personal details maybe we could go for some drives etc.

Spring does make a slight difference but my Turbo is underperforming at the moment only hitting 0.7 bar JZ had it in the garage for 2 weeks and could not find the fault they rekon the turbo charger has a fault.

That Cat bypass does sound good.........where did you get that from.....is it expensive

I have a turbo2

1991, red, 74k, linen leather,
K27s turbo upgrade, high performance cams, comp head studs, modified heads, warm up reg mods, straight thru s/s moded sliencer,
modded adjustable front suspension legs, modded front and rear springs,
18" Speedline split rims, sounds unbelievable, drives like stink and handles soooperb

Sam,
sounds cool.
Lets see some pics please.

Who made your silencer? I presume you've ditched the cat also.
BTW, where are you based?

Me too (as you already know Mark!)

1993 3.3, black pearl, 65k, tan/black interior. Nicely standard apart from a Sony radio.

Haven't driven it much, only from and back to the dealer again! It's there now, having a pair of rotten heat exchangers/air injection pipework and paint touch-up done under warranty.

First mods once I get it back are to fit a set of clear front indicator lenses, a cat bypass and refit a Pioneer minidisc/cd headunit from my last car (sorry folks, I value audio quality over originality!), replace the chronic original speakers and fit a small under-seat Alpine sub.
Here are a few pics I took before taking the car back to the dealer to fix the things I wasn't happy with...

...I eventually hope to fit a Turbo 3.6S rear spoiler (the body coloured one without the rubber part of the earlier designs), 18" Krone Classic rims and pick up a Clubsport steering wheel.

How much is that lowered by Sam? It's something I'd like to do in the future, but not sure if lowering these things is practical on todays roads - the last car I had that was lowered I couldn't drive my normal way home as it had too many potholes and speed bumps!

This is great. 'Meeting' new 965 owners that I've never seen on any of the boards. All adds to the camaradery and increases the knowledge base. Keep the pics and info comin, please.

Mine is totally standard apart from the Sports exhaust and stereo. You may have seen mine in front of the Hall at the weekend ... Tahoe Blue (see avatar).
Wife and I enjoyed the weekend. It was nice to have people come up to me and have a good chat about mine / their cars.

Hi Dale,
Yes I saw yours. You are one of the culprits that I was talking about on the other thread about data info. ;-)

I was interested in seeing your as it is the one from Paul Devyea sold this year, is it not? Also would have liked to hear your 'sports' exhaust.

Are you pleased with it? Any mods planned?

Yeah thats the one. Haven't got any plans for modding, happy with its performance and dont really want to detract from its "originality". If you're coming to the Croft day in Sept you'll get to hear the exhaust ... a few people at the last one said it sounded great.

Dale, what's the Croft day?

Tell more about the exhaust. Is it a silencer bypass or what? Do you know who its made by?

Good to see you've finally found the car you've been looking for MegatronUK. Nice one too, unusual to see an L reg 3.3. Me? I'm still looking i'm afraid [&o]

Saw yours the weekend Dale B outside the front of the Hall. Very nice, must take you ages to keep / get it that clean!

Interesing to see how everyones personalising theirs and how they rate the modifications they've done. Keep the pics and info coming people.

Hi folks , mine is a 3.6 with turbo s engine package ( sports cams , turbo upgrade etc ) 400 + hp ,
standard at present but will be adding cat bypass soon - should add 20hp and be more responsive.
After that i would like some lighter wheels and general weight reduction.
