Hi guys,

Any of you guys know the part number for the hex-head bolt which is screwed into the camshaft housing that mounts the lower arm of the muffler bracket?
Here is a picture:

You can download the original Porsche Parts Catalogs as PDF files using the link below. You should be able to search through the catalog for your model and find the part number you need.

Porsche Parts Catalogues

Sorry, just checked and I couldn't see 993 (or 911 variant of correct year) listed.

993RS. I've been through the PET diagram and I cannot find this bolt on the diagram. I think there is an ommission by Porsche.
I am struggling to get this bolt off and the corners have rounded off so I am waiting for some tools to arrive. Obviously I want to replace the bolt as it is mangled.

Ring your OPC? I find that the guys at Wilmslow anyway (up here in the North West), seem to have a magical way of knowing this sort of thing, when the parts catalogue can't help you. If they don't, they ask one of the technicians, who might have a 993 in the workshop to check.

Cheers

Roddy, OPC was no help - they are checking with Reading or Germany. Some of these bolts are on ridiculous places where you can't use decent tools and then they are fatened by a bloody gorilla!!
