Any of you guys displaying at the Festival? How many places do we have for 996's.? How much is it? Is it worth it? What time does it start? Will there be prizes/rosettes etc? Any of you camping/drinking etc and would like to meet up?

Sorry for all the questions, but I can't find the info anywhere.

Regards
Simon

Mine's the 996 C4 on the homepage!

yeah i was wondering about all this myself. are there any convoys leaving from the sussex area?

nice car

Well, I am driving the hike from Wirral for the two days.
I am not sure if I am displaying. How would one know?

This is my first visit to a Pcgb event. Wheere can I get an actual timetable of
events?

I heard along the grapevine that the "largest collection of pcars on the indy" is
happening on Monday morning. DO I have to register for this or just turn up?

Dissemination of info isn't very good. It's like, here's your tickets now go find out for yourself.

I guess i will jsut turn up.

Hi guys,

All of this info has been in Porsche Post for the last few months (honest!)
It is also on the festivals own website http://www.porschefestival.com/ which is linked to from the mail club site (link is on the homepage).

Your register secretary is the person to contact about "displaying" or register parking.

Hope that helps![:)]

I'm still none the wiser. Proably because I am a new member and have only had one mag.

Who do I contact to display my car on the concourse?
If I display on the concourse, can I remove my car overnight (as I am staying 20 miles away)?

How's the raffle work. I didn't buy my tickets through the club but I am a member.
Does that mean my tickets don't go into the members raffle?

Does the ticket include the gala dinner?
If not where do I order this from?

How do I enter my car to be in the parade?

What's the general attire, will shorts and T-shirt, sandles be OK? I see black tie for the Gala.

I am bringing my son. He's not a member, will he be allowed into the members only area with me?

I thought the festival started on Sunday. But I see that there are events on Saturday, indeed even
on the previous Friday!. When is the best day/time to arrive?

I am sure these questions are answered on a FAQ somewhere but I can't find anything even on the web site.
I sort of expected something to come with the tickets but all I got was the tickets. Period. Not very infomative.

Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Thanks Bernie for your imput and more questions than me? I have emailed John at PCGB on 996@porscheclubgb.com who looks after any 996's for the club, he is also our register man.

I'm just going to turn up and and enjoy myself. Speak to the 996 crew when you arrive. I'm sure they'll make you feel very welcome and help you and any others.

If you want to meet (anyone) I'll be at Thurrock services J30 M25 at about 10:30 on the Sunday.

i'm toying with idea of staying at the devere village hotel. anyone else staying there?

Thanks Simon.

I must say I am surprised that there isn't a FAQ soemwhere or a URL with all the information.
Also, I am totally confused with schedule as I see stuff posted in different threads all over
the forum regarding "lap parade", "World record event", etc. I still don't know
when the 996 lap parade is and how to get on ot. And I now understand that the world
record attempt is on the Monday not the Sunday but then I could be wrong on that too.
Even if I knew it I wouldn't know how to turn up and get on it. I mean where do you go
and what time to line up in the que....questions questions......where's the damn FAQ <banging-head-on-wall>

Berny,

Perhaps call me when you arrive and we can meet up. Ive got a chainsaw and machete. I find that helps with entry and decision processes.

maybe you can use them on my car to fix the RMS and rip out the gearbox [:D][:D][:D]
I will call you. But you won't be able to miss me. The big fat bloke with a RennTech T-shirt
on the 996 Register stand (just got on it, spoke to John M today).
Where are you traveling from?

Cheers,

Berny,

Get an extra coat of Rejex on for the weekend !!

My Cab is also on the 996 register a bit bereft of mods compared to yours...[:)]

See you there

Darn it! I hit a cat last night. Darn thing got up and ran away with 8 more lives left.
But left a ding in my front bumper....you can hardly see it though. Must have been a Scouse moggie and
head butted it.

Yes I will be be giving it a good old going over with the Rejex again before brands.
No doubt the 250 mile trip down there will collect some bugs though [:D]
WIll take my detailing kit with me just in case.

Looking forward to hearing that Mille Miglia. I very nearly went for that too but went with fabspeed in the end.

Look forward to seeing you down there......assuming my RMS/gearbox nakes it!

See the rest of you on the Register display.... I guess I will need to wash it after the track day and the ferry journey. Hope the weather calms down a bit. [:'(]

Mine will be the one with the funny registration with no letters. [;)]
