Who's going to Le Mans

Hi Colin,

I will be there and staying on Porsche Curves....maybe get a beer or two!

Cheers

Kevin

Hi Colin,

I'm going and have emailed/spoken with Joy at Lycian regarding getting us 944'ers pitched pretty close together. I'm using the tunnel on Thursday next week about 10'ish I think.

see you there,

Mike

We are on the hull zeebrugge ferry on thurs night. So we will be there Friday afternoon. see you all there

We'll be there...oh yeah [8D][:D]!!! Newhaven-Dieppe ferry on Wednesday night, get to the Village on the Curves in time for
a hydraulic breakfast early Thursday morning[;)][8D][:D][8D]!! Can't wait!!

not this year but perhaps in the future.... think I've been 4 times now, could be 5.....all with PCGB including the first year on the curves....a great place to be..I'm sure some here will remember the year before when the French kindly dug up all the grass just for us and laid down hardcore in place....not very good when trying to pitch tents...still good fun though.....

Pete

Ha,Ha [:D]!! It would of been good to meet up with you there Pete' and, get a few down our necks [8D][:D]!! Maybe next time.

Not going this year unfortunately, we went to Spa this year - what a circuit!!

Much more atmosphere at Le Mans 24hr though.

Enjoy!! We'll be back next year.

Gave her a wee clean today.

Just back ........

Had a fantastic weekend met with Pete Ex Skyline and Mike Mikebarry202. Good company and the best performance from Porsche for years. If you didn't go then sorry you missed it.
Shame we didn't have more 44's on site there was only 4 , 2 924's and a couple of 968's. We need to up the profile of our cars and appear at events like this as there was more Audi's and more Elise's there than 44's.

+1 in agreement with Colin's comments. Fantastic first time for me in Le Mans, roll on next year..... Great to meet you Colin, as mentioned hopefully I'll get up to the northern boys meet (that's if I'll be given an honorary membership, read exemption from being A southern shandy drinker!).

A great drive totalling 900 miles total, the S2 just purred including when pushing it to a meagre 110 MPH (I know, I know, not that fast, but given the Gendarme were on the lookout and the "significant" 1000 Euro fines/car impoundment etc) so I'm happy with that.

Oh, and now I know to get martini racing stripes, Le Mans and other such stickers to plaster all over the car...

It made me smile that when pulling into a service station on the motorway, along with Ferraris, Cobras, Astons and of course loads of Porsches there was a bunch of school kids stopped off from their school trip who were taking photos....... Even of my car....

Anyway, highly recommended and can't wait for next year including the Classic Le Mans.

How much more Porsche do you want it ?

What a fantastic weekend [8D]!!! Colin, Craig, Mike, Craig, it was a real pleasure and honour to meet you Gentlemen, it really was!!
Well, we did it! First AND, Second places in LMP1 [8D][8D]. Totally stuffed the Audi's!! Dr Wolfgang Ullrich walked through the pits
and, into the Porsche garage to congratulate the Porsche team 50 minutes before the end of the race. He knew that his Auto Union
team were beaten (as we all did on Porsche Curves [;)]). What a great Sportsman he is. How the Hell can a V4 engine smash a V10
to pieces?? Beats me [8|]. Glad you got home safely Col' [:D]. The T4 practically "Flew" home [8D]. 110 mph all the way to Rouen
[8D][:D] (don't tell the frog old bill) [:D].
Glen and I will defo' try to make the "Northern Boys" meet or, if we cant then, maybe that tour via Inverness you mentioned Colin.
Anyway, we'll see. I won't be Porscheless for much longer now. Looking forward to Le Mans 2016 and, maybe the Nurburgring
24hr rennen [8D][8D]. Cheers guys [:D].

again mate as, it seems to have disappeared off of my phone [8|]. If you have lost my card Col' just e-mail me. Cheers guys.

What's up with Pete's post

I thought we were over this rubbish now.................................

This came up weeks ago and I replied with what needs doing, copied below.

This can only be dealt with by the main administrator: it's a system put in place because it went badly wrong in the past and we'd be immediately removed as admins or moderators if we broke those rules.

I know it sounds stupid when out of context, but we have had anything from refusals to adhere to the swearing rules, to threats of violence that have gone to the police to deal with. Please understand that no-one is ever put on approval unless there's been a long series of issues, and ultimately if one person doesn't like this forum they can always leave, whereas we poor mods seem to get the blame! [&o]

Pete, you are genuinely welcome and we love your input. You just need to do what I said the last time you asked the same question! [&:]

While we are at it, why do my (rare these days) posts keep getting little notices saying "awaiting approval"?

Hi Pete,

Of course you're welcome. The trouble is the admins and moderators don't write our rules, we just apply them.

As you know, people are only put on approval after a period of discussions and warnings. We aren't allowed to simply remove it, you have to ask a Board member to do that. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue, but I personally broke that guideline years ago and the guy went on to post a load of abuse, and I got it in the neck!

Best person to talk to is Peter Bull. He's an admin as well as director, so best-placed to deal with it.

If there's anything needing approving urgently then give one of us a text or call and we can deal with it fast. Either admins for all forum areas, or the moderators for specific areas.

Pete,

great to meet you and Glenn. I plan to get up to the Northern meet (with the missus this time) if she lets me!!

Would be a shame for you to ditch this forum.... we need to know what Porsche you buy into (a 968 are you thinking of?)...

I might get down to an Ace Café meet (and Craig in his 911 3.2 SC Targa) so may see you at one in the future?

cheerio,

My heart bleeds Paul [:D]. Poor old mod's! [:D]. But, thanks for your advice anyway mate.
Mike Barry, I think it's going to be a 964 but, who knows, I am starting to miss the old four cylinder, transaxle beastie [&:]. It could
be a 968. I'll keep you posted [:)]. Martin, there is NO substitute for Jap' lager so, you'd better find some from somewhere [8|].
Colin944, I am still waiting for that 'phone number [;)][:D]!!

Best regards to one and all.

Pete' [8D].
