Why does this car keep coming up for sale?

I nearly bought this car about a year ago and this is the third time I've seen it up for sale since then?

It looks like the kind of car someone would keep for a LONG time? I decided I wasn't the right owner for it as I enjoy driving cars too much and wouldn't want to ruin such an immaculately preserved example.

Now though I'm wondering if its a scam of some kind?

Is it he same vendor as previously ? I would say that the market for a £10k early unmodded turbo is pretty limited amongst the general population (not to mention the 944 community as a whole) regardless of how spotless it may be. [&:]

No, it was Chris Hill's car originally, he sold it at Frontrunner IIRC, I don't think to the current seller. It was the car that was all painted rather than plated.

Possibly it's for sale as it's a difficult car to know what to do with? If you drive it it's devalued, and it wasn't truly concourse because of the painted bits.

ISTR it did do very well in concourse though, I remember talking to Chris at Eynsham must have been 3 or 4 years ago now and he had that car then in the competition. I am the sort of person that would like an early 944 turbo but not that one, it doesn't have Fuchs, is a really dull colour and is to much money IMHO for what it is, unless someone puts so much value into a something that has been cleaned up to that degree for a show.

This is only the 2nd time its come up though isn't it?

My reason for buying it was that I love the 944 and I was 1 year old when the 944 turbo was released. I always said I wished I could have owned one from new and that is about the closest I'm likely to get.. but in the end like I said its not what the car is about for me and I would prefer to keep just a well maintained car I can drive and enjoy.

p.s. It is the third time but the original owner didn't have it advertised on piston heads. I saw it somewhere else I can't remember.
