Why don't they make lighweight specials with 4 seats

I really fancy a GT3. Problem is that I like to take my 3 year old and my six year old to school. Remember the 968 Sport - basically a Clubsport with back seats. Can't Porsche do something similar with 996/7?

Well BMW make an M3 CSL with four seats. Why don't Porsche?

Yes but the BMW is only a saloon car dressed up as a sports car whereas the GT3 is a sports car - do you see?

Purely a laymans thoughts here but as long as it doesn't have a roll cage then a set of rear seats from a scrapped 996 would simply fit in the 'buckets' that are already there, and I'm sure the mounting points for the seatbelts are probably under the carpet too [:D]

Maybe a GT3 owner could confirm but I also thought they were in fact heavier than a standard 996 as long as the 996 isn't full of heavy equipment from the options list. The GT3 does have a more powerful engine hence the better power to weight ratio
