Why would someone pay £61K for a 7 year old 996 ?

You could buy a decent 997 for that money! They are way off - just because it's a Millenium Edition doesn't mean it's worth anything much over any other fully-loaded C4 made in 2000. It won't sell unless they drop it a good £10K or probably more.

Take a look at this 2004 GT3 MKII with 102 miles & a 12 month factory warranty - it's been for sale for over a month with no takers.

Must be a typing error, perhaps it should have read £30,995 as the '6' is above the '3' on a numeric keypad - or else he's looking for a really stupid buyer [;)]

hard to imagine he`ll find one that stupid-but you never know!!
at least 20k over what its worth, now a 993 with 58 miles and he may have something.....[:D]

I do wonder where it has been all this time? Could you get white dials on a 2000 996 model?

I'm not sure the pricing of that Millenium is a typo ... its at the top of their web page listings which would be hard to overlook.

I would have thought that something in the 30's would be about right for an as new car but as said, at the end of the day its a highly spec'd early 996/3.4; I'd rather buy a decent later car or for that money, a 997 or GT3 which would be infinitely better.

LOL...totally bonkers price....the market is as dead as a dodo at the moment, even if they dropped the price by £20k they would be lucky to shift it, as that's turbo territory! Those chrome wheels aren't to everyones tastes either....

Nick you still looking? [;)]
I reckon that MKII is also overpriced..I'd be more concerned over the lack of use than if it had 15-20k on the clock...IMO I'd rather have a used GT3RS for a few K more which will hold its value much better and won't have those lousy comfort seats[8|]

The garage selling the Millenium Edition is local to me and it was in their showroom under a cover when I went to view a 996 C4 that they had a couple of months ago.

The guy there said that he could have a showroom full of Porsche's as they didn't depreciate like other cars. He certainly wasn't eager for a sale as he wasn't interested in my part exchange. Bought a 2002 C2 the weekend after from a dealer who was all too happy to to take my part ex. and I'm loving every minute of the Porsche experience...

Guess he is holding out until he can get the money he wants, must just be very patient!

Probably been trying to sell it since about 2002 !

I have savannah colour coded dials on my Sept 2000 C2 - so I gues white would have been available then too.

A quick bit of detective work... A I Motokinisi (as stated on the car's paper floormat) is the importer of Porsche for Cyprus. My guess is that is where its been living since new. Probably owned by an Arab or Russian who took one look at the wood trim and couldn't bear to sit in it!

I'm only idly looking Rod [:D] I see from your last report that you'll be in the market next year.
I think I've really pretty much decided to go down the 968CS route for next year - just need to find the right one now.

Agreed - they'll have a tough time shifting it for that sort of money.

Hey Nick I saw that in your report, excellent choice! What are they like to drive compared ot the '3?
I'd love to be in the market now, can't shift my motor at the moment though...market is dead (or my car is overpriced!)[8D]

Ask me when I've driven one! Still figuring out the finances (trying not to sell the Corrado as the market is so flat). Plus I need to ensure I have storage space set up before aquiring yet another vehicle and thus completely monopolising the parking outside my house [:D]

The market does seem pretty quiet ATM - never a good time in the lead-up to Xmas. Hopefully it'll pick up a bit in the New Year.
