Wicked Wheels - Any Experience

I was thinking of having wheels refurbished and have been given the details of a company called Wicked Wheels - mobile service arrives on your doorstep and fettles the wheels there and then (www.wickedwheels.co.uk). Two queries:
1. has anyone else got experience of this outfit (good or bad)
2. I was thinking of having them paint the alloys black to match the body but wondered if the technical difficulty of achieving a colour match might be beyond a mobile unit. Obviously they will say not but I don't want to end up haggling over the results/price afterwards if the result isn't up to scratch.

Any info gratefully received

Michael,

I've used these guys a couple of times before and they do a good job. They came to my place of work and worked on each wheel individually. Their work is not perfect, but at £70 per wheel, it's good. They mask off the tyre rather than removing it, and grind off any corrosion. They then fill, primer and paint followed by lacquer. It's not baked on, and won't pass a concours inspection, but for most of us it's perfectly acceptable. 3 years later and the wheels still look good.

Be aware that WW is a franchise op and the quality can vary from one to the next. You really need to get opinions from people who have used your local franchise.

IMHO tyre removal and baking of the repainted wheel is the only way to go.

I had WW do my 996C2 wheels stripping them back to the metal for a full refurb. They came, put the car up on 4 stands in the garage, and took the wheels away for a week and delivered them back, and put the wheels back on again. (Although they put the front wheels on the wrong way round). The job was average, the spray hadn't gone into the holes and spokes too well, and there were a couple of little bumps here and there, it was enough to look OK generally but certainly not up to heavy scrutiny.

+1

The former Wicked Wheels in Crawley (now are called Wheelworks UK) are excellent, but they always do my wheels properly (tyre off / dipped / repair / painted / baked / tyre on) and are around 50 GBP plus VAT.
They have done three sets for me.
