Wide body models

Hi All

I am hoping that the next Porsche I buy to be a 997 and was curious about which models have the wider rear end and also what offset wheels are fitted to the wide body versions compared to the normal models.

Thanks Richard

Hi Richard,
Turbo, C4, C4S and GTS (Coupes, cabs and Targas)
I believe the offset on the rears is 67 for the non-wide body and 51 for the models above. The wide bodies have 305 rear tyres and the others 295. The wide bodies are 44cm wider and the offsets take care of 32cm of that. The other "bit" is taken up with half the extra width of each tyre! Good luck with your search[;)]

Narrow body cars also have 305 rears if they have the Carrera Sport wheels, as do the GT3 cars. GT3 RS also has the wider rear but even wider tyres, but I think I'm probably stretching the point a bit here somewhat! [:D]

Thanks for the answers. That's great to know.

Yeh I think the gt3 maybe pushing it a little for me [:(] but I wouldn't complain at owning any 997 at the moment. I've just sold my 996 C2 and I wanted to change the wheels on it and found aftermarket companies seem to cater more for the wider bodies than the others so I'd like to make sure I get the car that's easier to accommodate them this time. I ended up going for sport design 19" on that with 305's which turned out to look really nice just wouldn't have been my 1st choice.

Thanks Richard
