I have to admit to getting a little confused in my search for the "perfect 996". I understand that all 997's come with a "fat boy" rear end..and I think that a few 996's do also...can anyone help to clarify which do....Am I right that the c4s and the turbo do ...any others?

Quite like the c4s but not sure about the red reflector on the backside...Anyone know if this engine cover can be swapped out?

I know..I know.......How fussy am I???[]...just want to get it as right as possible.

I think you are right about the body styles. Not sure if non S lid will fit standard cars as the underside arrangement of holes and mouldings are different. I tried the reverse and attempted to fit a turbo lid to a C2 and gave up- far to complex and getting expensive for all the new bits to connect the fans to the engine etc., besides "hybrids" are not very popular. Most owners want straight cars without blue neons under the side skirts...I think!

Kinda coming round to the retro look of the c4s...but wondered if ther was an option...it seems that the porsche design team have gone off this style too...by the look of the 997 c4s.
