I should hopefully be taking delivery of my 997C2S CAB in March, this is my first Porsche and you get caught up in the excitement of it all and you forget to ask them to throw anything in "or is that a silly question" What I mean is will it come with floor mats a key ring or any of those other finishing touches or will I have to get my Wallet out again.

Regards

Roger

Do they charge you for the coffee when you take your car in for a service?

I will push them for a key ring as a minimum.

Regards

Roger

I'd be surprised if they throw in Mats (allegedly costing £140-£180) if you haven;t already negotiated this as part of the deal.
A couple of leather key rings is more likely.

I agreed the Mats and keyring as part of the deal, so am hoping to persuade them to leave a Porsche golf umbrella on the back shelf!!

On factory collection we got a silver 997 key ring and an atlas to find our way home. They also made the ocassion very pleasant with a lunch in their posh restuarant. On my return the OPC gave me 1 leather key tag! Just about sums it up really.

I also got a couple of quite smart Porsche baseball caps to keep the remaining hair in check when the top is down or the scalp warm in the colder weather [;)]

To be fair the cost of the lunch is presumably included in the £900 +£450 that they charge you for the factory handover...

Hi
I push for freebies every time, including things like CD changer unit (as they can be fitted by the dealer) plus of course the usual mats and key fobs. It's worth popping in for a chat with the salesman and having a browse through the accessories while you're there. Drop in casual remarks about how a certain accessory would help make the hand over 'more special' as a sort of keepsake, and don't be bashful about asking for it when collecting the car. I recently bagged a solid silver 911 Keyring that way, and I also managed to scrounge the Porsche pen off the salesman as I wrote the cheque out!![:D]
Be bold - they can only say no![;)]
Good luck!!

Its always nice to give the salesman a bottle, as then he will be more willing to give you "extras" on top of the usual gift you get.

In my experience you are more likely to get a few extras if you threaten the salesman with a bottle!

Give him a bottle!!! No Chance. Try to remember who parting with the cash.

Freebies,
What about the smile you get every time you drive it,
the nice feeling you get when you see one coming the other way, corrr,
or the anticipation you feel when you walk back to it in the car park?

I remember in the early 90's some desperate Ford dealer was giving away a free Fiesta with every Scorpio they sold!! Now that's what I call a freebie!! Oh hang on...getting stitched up with a Scorpio and a Fiasco sounds like the dealer is the only winner.....

Last time I went the salesman emptied his desk drawers of old Porsche mags and gave me a couple of them. WOW!
(He must have seen me arrive in the 944![:D])
