Will not tickover

My 944 has suddenly developed a fault. It will not idle at all. Also when driving it seems ok accelerating through the gears but when in top and trying to maintain a level speed it just leapfrogs down the road

Annoying but any thoughts?

I'd check vacumn lines, connections and for splits

I would check vac hoses as a9xxc said

But also check your air flow meter wiring or even that its still plugged in.. also try to disconnect the throttle switch and see if it runs any worse/better

It could be a whole host of things, describe when it first happened, did it suddenly run like this or did it gradually come on over time.. do you remember what happened just before it started, such as a rainy day, a hard high revving drive, increased fuel consumption, if someone keeps it running (I presume by keeping the revs up) and you stand behind it, does it make your eyes sting?

any tell tale clues may help
