Hi Richard,

Excellent news!!! I am hoping it is going to be a straight swap! I have emailed you my email address and look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Chris

As Richard says they will fit, but I think the mounting brackets are situated in slightly different places if the mufflers come from a tiptronic or C4S, nothing that can't be fixed with a good welding.

Hi Rodney,

Excellent news! I am hoping they are going to be an easy fit as i want them on ASAP! I dont think they came from a tiptronic but they may have come from a 4S.

Thanks,
Chris

I cannot wait for Saturday to come now, especially since i have removed my bypass pipes and am using the stock mufflers :( Currently i cant tell that the engine is on, the only evidence i have is the tree going past the window...

I will let you know how i get on and thanks to Richard again for his help!

Hi,

I have a PSE from a 3.6 and they fit well and sound great.

However, they do look slightly different and appear to stick out of the rear a little more than the original. They dont look out of place though.

It may be because the latter models had a slightly different / deeper bumper?

Good luck,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the message. So you just did a direct swap with them? Do your 3.6 mufflers have the MK2 modification with also the concertina bit on the pipe between the cat and the muffler?

Also, i know the facelift 996's do have a deeper bumper, which explains why they would stick out a bit more but how much are we talking about? A cm or an inch, etc??

Richard has given me some great advice and going to be doing this this weekend :)

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I didnt do this myself, so unfortunately I dont have the first hand experience with a screwdriver! [8|]

Cheers,

Rob

ps.... dont remember seeing a concertina type modification though

ok, thanks for letting me know.

They look like the same as my 3.4 mufflers and i cant see any reasons why they wont be the same!

Thanks again
