Will RS speedlines work with centre lock hubs?

Bit of a weird question I know.

I can borrow some RS Speedlines with cut-Cups on (for wet races in the Open). Does anyone know if they will mount onto the centre lock hubs on a 993 Cup car? I know the wheel sizes and offsets are different, but my spare Cup wheels have full race wets on which (a) are not allowed in class 3 anyway, and (b) I don't want to remove them, swap the tyres for the cut-Cups and then put them back again if I can help it.

Many thanks

Z

I had a look at the two types of wheel today.

The RS wheels have cutouts between the wheel nuts, the centre locks are solid, just like the back of a BBS magnesium race rim.

Also, strangely, the shape of the actual wheel is different - the magnesium cup rim is narrower than the alumnium RS rim. If the weather forecast for the race at Silverstone in a fortnight looks like rain, I think I will go through all the hassle of swapping tyres (the spare cup wheels have full race Pirelli wets) rather than risk putting the RS wheels on the cup car.

Only then, jimmyslr, can you get your tyres back...

Thanks Paul.

>rs wheels will not fit,the mounting centre hole is to big to fit the centre lock hub.

It's not a problem, they're only jimmyslr's wheels. I'll wrap loads of gaffer tape round the centre lock hub and then they'll fit. Put a bit of loctite on the wheel nut and I'm sure they'll be fine!

Jimmy i think i still have enough tape left over to make zubs car look even nicer with some taped up wheels.
May cause the steering wheel to vibrate a little[:D]

Some of that tape needs to be used to tie Zubs legs together. That river dance footwork stuff on Piston heads wont work when the car is moving.

I saw that clip!! I am still recovering now!!

I hear there might be a new, even better fancy footwork video from Silverstone. The man's feet move so fast there appear to be more than two... Upload it, upload it, upload it

Who wants to see how a 993 Cup should be driven? post here[:D]
