Will these wheels fit?

Hi all,

Got the chance to fit some wheels from a MY06 C 2 Cab 997 to my MY99 C4. Current wheels are 18" Turbo IIs with standard 225/40s front and 265/35s at the rear. The new ones are the 18" Penta thin 5 spoke type. Will they fit and will I need to fit spacers? Thanks

Are these the one currently on ebay ?

You need to talk to someone like Jasmine Motorsport in Lancashire. From the parts catalogue it looks like the 997 18" Carrera wheels were supplied in

ET57 for the front axle - your current wheels should be ET50, so you'll need a 7mm spacer

ET58 or 51 for the rear axle (10" or 11" rim) - i assume its most likely to be the former size. Your current rears are probably ET65, so the 997 rims will already sit 7mm further outboard, increasing track, and maybe fouling the wheelarch as a result

If they are the rims/tyres on ebay, then you also need to factor in tyres - the 997 cars run a bigger rolling radius than the 996 series cars, even if they do fit , yor speedo will be out, and acceleration will be less.

I'm sure there is a seal grey 996 on here with 997 rims - did you try an extended search ?

Yes, they are currently on Ebay. Having read previous threads here and on other forums I think the fronts will retract by 1mm and the rears will move out by 7mm. My 996 has the M030 lowered suspension so I may need to adjust with spacers.
I also think the fronts are likely to be 8J rather than 7.5J so could have a slightly thicker sidewall. Will talk to Jasmine as you suggested.

The picture you posted is a 9x6 series wheel - Carrera. This has thinner spokes than the equivalent wheel on a 997 - just in case you thought they were the same wheel
