Hi all just bought a 1986 3.2 carrera targa in red. I have just re-covered the targa roof it was quite easy. Does anyone have a link to how the windows can be adjusted to fit a bit better. many thanks.

Sorry I can't help you with your question but i would like to ask you if you used any glue to stick the lining to the roof. Mines peeling off and can't see through top part of passenger window.

I used evo stick spray can bout £4 a tin worked a treat. I am well pleased with the roof as well as the windows now seal all the way along which they didnt do before i re-covered the roof.

Check the Bentley's or even your Haynes if you really must but the settings are in there. If not then I'll post the dimensions and info here for you.

VEG,

where did you buy the kit from to do your roof, as I need to do mine very soon?

Rgds,

Kevin

For safety, disconnect the battery as you'll be needing to remove the window switches before the door card , handles etc can be removed.
Once the door card is off you need to identify the two adjusting bolts, the front one located nearer the door hinge governs the up and down limits and the rear bolt nearer the lock end of the door governs parallility of the top edge of the window.
You can identify the bolts as they occupy slotted sections in th door steel pressing. The front bolt is loosened and moved forward to raise window height and moved rearwards to lower window height. Remember to mark positions before you start for reference points.
Reassembly is reversal of removal but take your time with the window regulator switch and its' rubber shroud as things are quite tight here.
Hope this helps, sorry no pics to guide.

Bought the roof kit from forest fine took my time and it took 2 days as i waited for glue to dry. Now the roof has been fitted for a while i may have to try and pull some more slack out of it as it has streched ever so slightly, but i expected this anyway. Its not a very hard job to do but just take your time doing it.
