Can anyone advise if they have had similar issues with their 993's. There is corrision coming through the seals on the window sills and I believe this stems from the alumunium window frames that have corroded. I am told this is quite common Are they easily repaired as the cost of replacing all frames is extremely high?

Seb - this is quite common. The cost will depend on how bad it is. Mine are starting to go, but they haven't got any worse in the last five years, and it's hardly noticeable. Yours sounds a lot worse. Best thing is - take it in and get a few quotes. If you give us the general area you live in I'm sure someone can recommend a good body shop.
based in London (SW). Does anyone know or use Autofarm?
the pics are too big to post on the forum so I need to email you
Seb - you can post big pictures to forum using procedure here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=242138
(then we can all worry about our window frames)
There are some white marks on mine that I assumed was just dust/dirt that's tough to remove, but maybe it's alloy corrosion...[]

Mark, my technical ability was somewhat lacking today regarding uploading pictures but I am working on it. Sounds like your frames are fine, mine look like someone has poured acid on them! Maybe they have!! They have bubbled up if that makes sense which leads me to think you just gotta give yours a good clean! You lucky b....r. The realisation is I am just too tight to own a Porsche.
Thanks for the link for uploading, mmhh.back to work.

Premier body shop fixed mine. The quote started at £250 but rose to £650 when they had the doors and windows apart. As a matter of interest new window frames including all new seals are £3000, no I jest not. So, The price is very much down to how bad they are. Finally, the door window frames are not covered by Porsches body warrenty.
