Window Mechanism

Good afternoon 996 fans,

just been cleaning my 99(T) C2 Cabriolet, and decided to clean the window seals, and lubricate the cable rollers inside (this was due to recent squealing when lowering the window). All went well, except when I finished the passenger window would not close.

It would get half way, stop and then lower again. After a few tries I got it further up, but only after alot of grinding and graunching. The grinding and grauching happens at the middle of the window operation.

Not sure how putting some 3in1 on the cable rollers would cause this. All I can think of is the cable has slipped? Any ideas?

I have managed to get teh windfow closed, and it does work when opening and closing the door, so no issue right now, but need to get this sorted as I want to get the roof down when teh sun shows, and it would be nice if the windows closed too.

It is most likely that the window regulator cable has snapped, which is fairly common.
