Window Motor- kind of urgent

MRGT

New member
Driving through the gates at work this morning my drivers window decided to stop half way down [8|] , I've checked the switch and fuses which are ok, so I am going to
assume the motor has finally packed in (it always was a bit slow compared to the passenger side). The big problem however is that I now have to leave the keys in the ignition
in the 'on' position as otherwise my alarm automatically sets itself and then goes off with the first gust of wind through the window !

So the big question is, does anyone have a drivers side window motor going cheap and available for immediate dispatch [:D]

Mine was intermittant and although like yours was slow aswell,
turned out to be a poorly earthed cable inside the door that had worked loose.

Worth taking the door panel off and checking.

Howard, if you want to phone me on 07515 899 500, I can pop one in the post today for you first class,

If you are simply after being able to lock the car, how about cutting a piece of card to fit the hole and sticking it in place with some tape? Ugly, very temporary, but will allow you to lock and alarm your car.

Oli.

Thanks for the replys guys, I have managed to get the window up by repeatedly slaming the door hard which seemed to unstick the motor. I have a day off on Thursday so will take the door apart and take a closer look at the wiring and motor.

Alasdair, I will probaly take you up on your offer anyway, I will give you a call on Thursday when I'm at home, thanks again.

Howard
