Window Motor Testing

My passenger window has stopped working. I did some obvious checks such as swapping switches which made no difference. using one of those screwdriver type testers I'm pretty sure the passenger switch is receiving juice. I know its not the regulator as there is no noise at all. That leads me to believe the motor itself has failed. Assuming that it is receiving power (I'm going to take the door apart to check), is the a quick easy way of testing the motor before going to the expese of buying a new one?

You can probably tell that car electrics are not my stong point...[:)]

Les - I had the same problem, but on the drivers side. Did all the same checks. Mine was the motor. I'm no expert, but connecting it up directly to a battery or test meter will confirm the problem. If you've done the other stuff (as I did) the motor's about the only thing left.

Word of advice. Whilst your in there replace the regulator. I didn't and now the thing rattles as I disturbed the nylon rollers. Now I have to take it all apart again to fit a new regulator!
