Window of Opportunity

Has anyone else noticed that the problem warm start window seems to enlarge with age?

Mine nows gets warm start problem from after half hour to four hours after stopping.

This is fine at a meet where the cogniscenti can savour the distinctive flavour of German engineering but amongst the plebs it just sounds as if the car won't start.

My wife finds that when she goes to a supermarket and loads the car she gets a queue of people waiting for the space that they think she is about to vacate..... Boy do they get agitated after 10 or 15 minutes.

There should be a dispensation when parking at Motorway Services for 924's... 2 Hours isn't always enough [:-][:D]

Much has oft been written, including two or three diatribes by me expounding my theorises as to why it happens, and how to overcome it. It seems unique to the 924, the turbo (Aka 931) does not suffer, at least my two don't. If you require an explanation look in the 924 FAQ.

That's inspired me Geoff.

I've been working on legal or other means to sort out this parking nonsense everywhere. Now, technically after we've parked we've broken down, so if we're prepared to pay the minimum New Labour inspired street parking charge, that should be enough!

The other method is to not pay as one has a human right to park (if we have a human right to hijack a plane providing we've got a nice suntan,
surely we have a human right to park!) request the matter be dealt with in a court, they will arrange arbitration and then ask the arbitraters to refer the matter to a court under the Bill of Rights Act . They then let you off as the only way out of the legal tangle, particularly if you mention Lord Justice Laws ruling of Feb 2002 as justifying your request.

In the FAQ it mentions it's caused by aa faulty check valve in the fuel pump. I havn't heard this one before. My fuel pump has been given an extended OEM warranty after I complained I could hear it when I wanted to listen to other things. I've always been led to believe it was a design 'feature'

Actually it is a Porsche devised way of getting owners of their 'entry level' cars to meet more people and thereby enjoy a richer social life [8D]

John (924 nutter) is correct. It happens in my 924 Lux but not the 931 (924 Turbo) this means that when my wife and I go anywhere in seperate Porsches, I have to stop off at the pub on the way home so that she can get home before me and get a meal ready.... It's a tough life.[;)]

Crikey Geoff, we all make sacrifices but you really do go above and beyond the call of duty. How do you cope [:D][:D][:D]...
