Morning. Both windows have gradually taken longer and longer to go down and both the drivers & passengers windows will only go about half way down and no further - likely cause ? new motors needed / bad contacts?/ regulator and how tough a job is it to do to a mere novice or is it a Hatech job for me. Are the parts easy to get hold off eg motors/ regulator and costs

Cheers in advance.

Have a search for posts made by Iceshark. He believes that most window problems are actually caused by the electrical cables and not the motor. Once you take the door card off and plastic sheet behind you can see the motor and scissor arms.

A less drastic solution that does help, is to lubricate the channels that the glass slides up and down in. Halfords (and others) sell a small aerosol of plastic and rubber lubricant that does the job very well. Stops all manner of small interior squeaks too [:D]
