Window stop and mesh

How secure is the window stop and the seat head meshes supposed to be (on a 986 Boxster S)?

The head mesh on the driver's side is very loose from the top clip (it has 3), which doesn't anchor properly for some reason... Not only does this worry me (about coming off) but also it produces a constant rattle (in my ears) which does my head in. The other mesh is fine for some reason.

The window stop... Since I got my 986 this always looked flimsy so and also rattled (I could see the top middle shaking if I did more than 50 mph), worrying it might come off while I drive the car on the motorway I took this to the dealer. For a tidy sum they replaced the windstop retaining clips on roll bars plus packed out foam pad under windstop to tight in the O/S retain clip (this is what it says in my receipt, just looked!). It looked OK (and sort of felt OK) till it came in my hands again a few days later while washing the car... Surely that's not supposed to happen?! This has to be one of the things you want 100% bolted down on the car... Not to mention I don't see the foap pad anywhere... How secure is this supposed to be?!?

Hi Metropolis986 - my Boxster 3.2s didn't have a centre windstop when I adopted her. I bought one from Porsche but the latch on the right side didn't lock properly and rattled constantly and dropped out on several occasions. This is because the hole on one side is bigger than the other - this was not picked up in quality control and has slipped through. Porsche are replacing my Windstop but as a temporary measure I glued the latch in place and it has survived a good 120mph spin and not rattled. Haven't had a problem with the mesh inserts other than being tall it is easy to push them with the seat. Hope this helps.
