Its ok, subtlety is not one of James's strong points...

Ive made my view about 'tinting' clear, but I did manage to do that without being either rude, or offensive. Id like you to consider this James: when you talk to people like that on a forum, you make yourself appear to be the "chav nob" that you so despise.

Regarding it actually adding to the heat, I'd guess it's have to be heat-reflective to work. Can you get clear coatings, as with household or office glass? [8|]

It really does help keep the heat down on sunny days, and helps obscure the interior from prying eyes, although I had it done (on this and my old black Lux) purely for aesthetic reasons. I have an ultra-light tint on the side windows, a light tint on the rear quarter glass and a full tint on the rear hatch.
I would strongly recommend against trying to tint 944 rear hatch glass yourself. The guy who did my two is a very experienced chap (gets flown out all over the world to teach technique and regularly visits Dubai etc to work on "˜special' cars) and claims that the 944 hatch is the most difficult job he has ever done. Because of the glass shape and size it took three separate pieces of film which he shaped to hide the joins along the lines of the heating element.
Apologies for these not being the clearest of photographs, but I don't think I've ever tried to take shots that specifically show the glass "¦

Hey, Poprock - looks good on your black car (although I'd like to see a shot showing the rear window more clearly/closer up please!).
This may look a little strange, but they're the only closer shots I've ever taken "¦ from when I had some vinyls done to use the car for my honeymoon!

Both cars I've had done the process cost me around £250 all-in. Not bad considering they take the front glass out completely and replace all the seals as well. I reckon each car was a full day's work for a two man team, so I class that as cheap.
