Windows lower from key fob

So I've watched a few YouTube videos and apparently it's possible to press the keyfob button and the windows will lower on the 987. I've tried this and it doesn't do this on mine.

Is there something that needs setting from a garage that makes with work ?

Many thanks

'Comfort Opening' and 'Comfort Closing' are finctions that can be coded with a Porsche PIWIS tester.

On early 987s there was an issue with people arriving back at their parked cars to find the windows and/or luggage compartment open, but the car locked. This was due to unintentional unlocking by the remote button being activated in a trouser pocket or handbag. The response time was set too low at the factory, and the car would unlock (or open the front compartment) with a very quick press of the button. If the unlock button was held for a little longer, the windows would open too. After a minute, the car would re-lock automatically (if a door wasn't opened), leaving the windows/compartment open. There was a bulletin to extend the time for the buttons to respond, but a lot of cars didn't get done.

Bear that in mind if you have it coded - make sure the time has been extended. PPersonally, I set mine to comfort close only, so it could never be an issue.

Thank you for that info, that is exactly what I was looking for.

Can I only have the setting changed at a Porsche dealer ? and are there any other settings that I might want to consider ?

TIA

On cars with Sport Chrono and PCM there are a few settings you can make to the key behavior, otherwise it needs coding. Anyone with a PIWIS tester can do it. Any independent specialist, or there are a few individuals who have one. If you are anywhere near me (Maidenhead, Berkshire) I would be happy to do it for you. Drop me a PM if I can help.

I forgot to say that for early 987 key fobs there is a button kit that has slightly different shaped bottons which help prevent accidental operation. I got a set for my 987.1 Cayman and they were much better. The later remotes were also improved (and look nicer). The internals are the same, so if you can find one with non-working internals (on eBay or the like) you can swap them over.

There isn't much else that can be coded without adding hardware.

Thank you so much for the info

I will defo look out for the keyfob, and wish I was closer but I'm in Wales. I will ask around the area for anyone with a unit.

Thank you again
