Windows lowering

My Boxster is used regularly all year and recently on two occasions have gone into my garage to find by windows have opened all the way down. Seem to remember seeing something in the past about this but can't remember why?
Perhaps my overall concern is leaving the car in a public place and finding upon my return this has happened again. Any thoughts??
Many thanks
Edward

I had this happen to my 997 Turbo a few years ago in the Eurostar terminal in Calais. The car was full of wine and other goodies while we went for a coffee in the terminal. On our return we arrived back at the car to find the windows fully down we were lucky nothing was missing.

Obviously you are aware that if you press and hold the door button it will unlock the car and lower your windows.
Are you sure the button wasn't being continually pressed whilst the keys were in your pocket?

I've been present when this happened to a 996 owner whilst on a foreign trip. It was a control module that had failed - in this case it was replaced at the nearest Porsche Centre or the car would have been insecure for the rest of the trip.

Just another couple of suggestions Edward:

Make sure that the windows drop slightly when opening the doors and then raise fully when closing them. It's probably worth resetting the widow limits anyway, as you would after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery [you should find the procedure in your Owner's Manual].

Clean/lubricate the edges of the windows and any window guide areas on the screen and hood as well as the window seal.

If that doesn't work then unfortunately I think a trip to the dealership is in order for a more in-depth diagnosis.

My 987 did this on a particularly cold night in November. Car was under OPC warranty at the time & they had it in to check it all out - found nothing wrong.

At the time, it wasn't being used every day, possibly only once per week. I put the trickle charger on it & gave the battery a long charge. It hasn't done it since but i am using the car more often now. I put it down to a weak battery after doing a bit if research on the various Porsche forums.

Thanks for all the info - the car is used regularly(once a week) but will try a long trickle charge and see what happens.
