Windows won't drop when opening the soft top

I'm a recent owner of a 2003 Boxster. I had to replace the offside window regulator which meant a battery disconnect. I reset the windows when fixed and reconnected. First time I opened the soft top the windows dropped. During the drive I put the windows fully up. The windows didn't drop when I went to close the soft top. They now don't drop when I go to open the soft top either. If I drop the windows before opening the soft top latch and then close the latch the windows close up. I'd welcome any hints about this.

The claw on roof lever operates a microswitch. It would sound like this has failed. Bit of a coincidence though???

Hi,
Yes I thought about that but I presume the microswitch must be active as the windows do raise automatically when you close the latch.

I had the same problem on a 1999 plate boxster and it was to do with the solenoid coming loose in the boot Compartment.
