Windscreen chip

Having had a stone hit the passenger side of the windscreen yesterday i have booked for RAC Auto windscreens to come out to resin inject the chip. The screen has a few minor chips on the drivers side not really noticeable but there.
If i go down the line of having a complete new windscreen am i best to go with the above company and pay the £60.00 excess or pay £120.00 excess and take it to my place of choice?

If you take it to an OPC there is every possibility that they will sub the job to Autoglass or the RAC. Autoglass replaced my windscreen last year as I was not near an OPC and the screen was badly cracked by a stone. They did a good job with no problems at all. If you are really fussy, ask them to supply dealer glass rather than the Pilkington equivalent.

I had mine done by autowindscreens in Leeds. I gave the manager a ring and asked for his advice, explaining how much i loved my car and wanted his best fitter. He totaly understood and said he would prefare for me to have it done at the depot. They did a great job.
Also mine started off as a chip repair but they made it worse and cracked it, they then waived the £60 excess[8D]

I had new windscreen this time last year, with RAC due to insurance with NU. Like the poster above, they recommended that I left the car at their depot for the day as they said it would be better than a mobile fitter.

Did a good job - no complaints at all - and now have nice clear screen.
