Windscreen Corrosion update

On advice received via the forum I approached Porsche through my local OPC.
They have fixed the corrosion under warranty.

Thanks for the advice.

They didn't put up a fight at all and were very helpful. Exeter OPC.
However, their approved body shop was "sub-optimal". Cramped, busy and full of all sorts of marques.
They took twice as long as they said, broke my alarm sensor mounting with no replacement, de-wired my neatly routed Snooper and left dirty finger marks all over the place. It is going to take time and hassle to put it right.

And places like this manage to stay in business. Sounds like a nightmare from the 1970s.

Is this dreadful outfit paying for the stuff they broke or compensating you in some way?

They also put a door opening dent in the rear wing.
I am awaiting a response to my toxic letter of complaint.

I can advise you that when OPC "sorted out" my windscreen/scuttle panel corrosion under warranty they did not put any corrective measures in place. This winter the screen leaks/water still sits under the seals and I have already found signs of corrosion under the seals. THE CAR LIVES IN THE GARAGE !!!

Now it has to go back again.

I washed the car this weekend and for ages afterwards (24 hours) water was seeping out of the seals. I don't like the look of that. While it was with the OPC I had a major service costing £890. The car is running well and I don't mind paying for quality but the experience of their "approved bodyshop" makes me wonder whether all I got was another OPC stamp in the book.

If it did nt have it already , they should put Teflon tape around the edges of the body work, cuts out squeaking and any chaffing to paint .....................probably whereever u take them the OPC calls in a screen specialist ....................in the ;ast 3 replacements i ve had on 993, 2 needed redoing ..........................just tell em !!!!!
