Windscreen cover dash protection recommendations

I have finally acquired a 944 that has a perfect dash with no cracks whatsoever. !:)

Naturally I would like to try and keep it this way but the problem is its an outdoor car.
I have got whole car covers which I could use but have found in the past that they are more trouble than they are worth for a daily driver. Every time it has rained you have a soaking wet cover to find a home for and on return you have a wet cover to put back on the car.

What I would like is either something neat that can be placed along the dash on the inside or an external windscreen cover ,the kind you tuck into the doors either side .. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations ?

decided to buy one of these.
it will be useful for Winter conditions as well as a good sun block for the whole cab area including the cloth seats.

Hi Peanut

The series 2 dash is much more resilient than series 1 cars. My dash is still un-cracked and the car lives outside. You can buy a little set of vent trims, that I think would safeguard your perfect dash without the faff of car covers.

I think these would stop any cracks being able to start at the edges of the vent holes.
