Windscreen Degrease

Does anyone know of a screenwash that actually works, and what is the best solution to cleaning the windscreen and wiperblades to stop the dreaded greasy film, especially bad when faced with oncoming headlights?

Cheers

Paul

I bought a screen cleaning paste from my Jag dealer a few years ago which works really well. This came in a small bottle, about 100ml I guess, and because a little goes a long way and I only use it two to three times a year I still have some left. It is best used after washing and drying the glass but before cleaning the rest of the car because as it dries it leaves a white powder which washes off easily.

I presume a similar product is available from other dealers or Halfords.

I use the two Autoglym products - Fast glass is the general cleaner, and there is a more intensive paste - I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't check the name, but I have found these to be very effective. As above, the paste leaves a white residue, but this is fairly easily cleaned off.

Hi Guys,

I already use the Autoglym stuff, and as long as it is raining well, the film smear seems to go quite quickly, but I am at a loss as to what screenwash helps. Currently I am using whatever my OPC put in the screenwash tank, smells nice though!

Thanks for the feedback

Paul
