Windscreen leak??

During a recent heavy rainstorm, our 944 was left outside.....resulting in a large pool of water in both footwells.
Everything was closed fully including sunroof, so I'm going to surmise that it came in through the lower edge of the windscreen which appears to have NO seal on it either inside or outside....as I have nothing to compare with, can you tell me if something is missing.
(I wouldn't be surprised as the previous t****r of an owner replaced many of the ceramic fuses with metal screws!!!
Help....again!

There was a plug in the battery tray that caused a leak into my footwell. I'd be looking in that area to start with. I think it is common for there to be no seal although it should probably be glued in.

Nah...checked that as first job was to clear the outlets on both sides and get rid of collected cr*p in there...so they're clear.
But thanks for suggestion

If the area behind the engine bulkhead is blocked with leaves etc particularly where the wiper arms and cables run i.e. blocking the drain holes then the whole area fills with water then runs into the car directly through the heater motor housing either if not sealed or if the level of water goes above the screws holding the heater housing to the car. Found this when I replaced the wiper arms and motor and had to remove the heater motor unit then forgot to put all the fixing screws in, the water as it runs off the screen into the bulkhead area went straight to the passenger and driver carpet.

Is it a square or oval dash? Both look unfinished and are supported on blocks, but I don't think the the rain would come in around the screen.

As has been said the most likely way for the water to get in both sides would be through the heater air intake, due to blocked drain holes, into the wing on the oval dash and forward into the engine bay on the square.

Square dash...but I will make sure that all fixings are in place and that all outlets are clear. You're right the lower part of the windscreen does look unfinished, hence my concerns.
Thanks everybody, always rely on this forum to come up with answers
Cheers
Paul
