Windscreen Leaking

Hi, I have just joined the forum and brought my first 1986 3.2 Carrera.
I have noticed through some heavy rain it has a water leak in the bottom left and right corners of the windscreen. Which is dripping through and puddling to the gap at the back of the dash? It looks like it's leaking through a seal???
Can anyone suggest the best way to go about getting it fixed or replaced. I also have a small crack in it. Should this be replaced or are the windscreen fixes ok. I am just concerned because I believe it has a built in antenna.
Im based in London, and I'm also not sure where to go to get this work done.
Thanks Simon

You should get the windscreen replaced before the crack spreads - they are readily available from Porsche and your insurance company will pay for the work if you have windscreen cover.
The leak sounds more sinister. One of the most common corrosion areas on all air-cooled 911's is the bottom corners of the windscreen aperture so there is a good chance that you'll need this area repaired while the screen is out. Where are you located?

I am in Dulwich, South East London. My insurance has a small excess if I choose who is going to do the work so I would rather get someone with experience of these older cars to do the work.

White Targa occasionally seen by my daughter parked on the corner of Melbourne Grove and Lordship Lane...?

I did the same, paid the excess and had a recommended fitter install a Porsche 'screen. You do need to prepare yourself for some work on the aperture though

No, it's a black coupe near Herne Hill.
Do you know any good companies I can start to use? I want to keep it running well until I get more experience with it.
I have only had it a couple of days so just getting used to it, everything is very exciting.

I'm in Dorset myself and if I wanted a job like your's done, I be straight on to Canford Classics, who are local to me and would do a superb job. But they might be a bit of a trek for you so you could try Nick Moss at early 911 in North Sussex. Definitely worth getting both jobs done at the same time, assuming the 'A' pillars do need doing. Might be worth having a word with JAZ and Paragon as well.

Welcome to Carrera 3.2 ownership, great choice. I've driven countless 911's, both older and newer and in my opinion nothing comes close to matching the blend of performance, driveability and all-round 911 feel of my 3.2.

Many thanks for the info. My car has a lot of service history from Paragon, so I think I will give them a call next week.
Its crazy how you can get so addicted to these cars. I haven't even driven this properly yet but I already love it.
Thanks again, and I will let you know how I get on.

Hi Simon
Welcome to the club and congrats on your choice, I too live in dorset [Portland] and do most of the work on my car myself
