Windscreen washer bottle... how does it come out!!!

My windscreen washer bottle appears to have sprung a leak! I managed to get the thing out in one piece (lots of swearing) from the top side (conventional wisdom seems to be that it comes out from the bottom, but anyway).
However, trying to get it back in again (this time, from the bottom) I broke it by scraping it on the oil cooler. I now have one on order... thankfully it's only 60 quid for a brand spanking new one from Porsche... and there was a crack in the top anyway... however I really don't want to mash up the new one. Hopefully the oil cooler itself has survived.
So any tips? All the tutorials are either LHD cars (seem to be different) or the type without the headlight washers which is quite a bit smaller. What has to come out? It appears to be blocked from above by the headlight motor and the ignition coil and from below by the power steering cooler and engine oil cooler.
Any help would be appreciated from someone who has done this job before... otherwise the whole front of the car is coming to bits to avoid damaging anything else.

I don't know but headlight motor and coil sounds easier to remove than all the coolers (or the entire front end). I would favour getting some of the gubbins out of the way then trying to refit it from the top down.

Unbolt both brackets (left and right) holding the headlight hinge to the chassis and it moves far enough (just) to get the reservoir back in.

Enjoy

William

Thanks chaps... that's what I will do. At the end of the day it came out of the top in one piece and I broke it trying to get it in from underneath...

Ewwww! That's not a job I'd fancy Rob - the bottle is like an iceberg with a bit visible at the top and most of it all tucked away underneath. Well done on getting it out, sorry to hear it broke on the way back in!

Good to meet you on Sunday BTW. It's always good to put a name to a face and it seems that we've been chatting on here for ages! Thanks again for all the work you did organising the day.

Oli.

I could have brought you one on Sunday.... (Mine was replaced to make room for brake ducting)

I think I moved the headlight motor and possibly the coil. Took me a bit of headscratching to work out the best route. Certainly easier from the top.

Thanks for the offer (naturally it broke on the way back from Rutland!), and good to finally meet you too Oli!
Removed the headlight motor and the ignition coil and now it goes in and out fairly easily from the top.
