Windscreen washer pipes

Is there a way of getting all the little clips off that hold the plastic pipes?
I have very intermittent supply and in this weather its annoying.
One of the passenger side jets will work intermittently so water is getting there and the pump is fine.
Oddly the headlight washers work perfectly!
I'm sure it must be a physical blockage but I am struggling to get the clips open - they look crimped on. Are they an availalble part?
The wires to each nozzle are what? heating?
Thanks
David

Yes heating.

Cut the clips off with side cutters and use cable ties to hold the hoses back on afterwards. The clips are still available, but they crimp on and need to be cut off. My indie has clips and the crimping tool which he used on various hoses on my car, but short of buying the tool or getting someone to do it for you you need an alternative method.

A blast from an airline down the offending washer cured mine.

Headlamps have a seperate pump, don't they? Assuming so as mine don't work, but the windscreen pump is fine.

It's a double-ended pump, at least in later cars. Same as a Mk2 Golf except the headlight pump in the 944 is the rear washer on the Golf.

You'll possibly find that the one way valve is blocked. A replacement is pennies from a local motor factor or you could just unplug it and do without. The valve is supposed to stop water draining back into the tank and provide instant squirt when you pull the lever by the steering wheel. I've run without one for a while and noticed no difference in SRT 'squirt response time' [;)]

A simple job sorted but it's nice all the same.
Several blockages unblocked.
Fishing line is very useful!

I got a speeding ticket in my first 911 because the valve wasn't there. Mucky day on an A-road I caught up with a 55mph Orion. It was a case of pull, 2, 3, spray to clean the windscreen every 10 seconds which got old very quickly, so I blatted past when I got a chance. Being a nice chap I blatted on to put some space between us rather than plaster his screen with the vortices off the whale-tail and while I was coming back into orbit I happened past Mr Plod with his jam sarnie at the roadside. Apparently I was doing 85.

Worst 'it wasn't my fault' post of the day :ROFLMAO:
And not even 944-related!

Tsk! I am sure people have been banned for less! [;)] (And banned from forums for lesser infractions as well! [:D] )

Oli.

No need to cut the clips off;they are quite soft metal to allow for the crimping, just slide a small pointed electrical screwdriver between the clip & pipe and twist carefully at both ends near the clip until loose enough to pull the tube off.Once off, remove from tube, carefully reshape using electrical pliers. To re-crimp,use blunt sidecutters to squeeze crimp ends together again or the cutting part of pliers.Personally,I use a small set of pincers end on & they are virtually what the "official" setting tool is.The one way valves are very cheap from an OPC-I think the screenwash eventually makes them stick & I find that "algae" like stuff forms in the pipes and doesn't help.
