Windscreen washer pump, power but don't work.

Now this has me baffled![8|]
My windscreen washer pump has stoped working, well thats what i thought. I pulled the pump out and replaced it with a new one from OPC Hatfield, and it didn't work! So i conected it to the headlight washer loom and it works fine. Then i tested the wiring for the windscreen washer pump and theres power coming through, the wiring is not corroded etc.
So i can't think why the pump doesn't work when it's plugged in with power going to it. Is there a windscreen washer pump relay??? Fuse is ok.
 
Oh God I went through this same problem on my 924: apparently normal voltage at the pump end. It was a nightmare to trace, but when I cleaned the contacts on the stalks the pump operated as it should.
 
Hi,
This may or may not be relevant, but the filter on the end of the pipe into the reservoir gets clogged and may be part of the problem.

This may not be the same problem but I had a problem on my 944 2.7 one mucky morning my washers wouldnt work
They were working fine the day before ! (I'd had the bonnet up for a general look round.)
Oh Oh the pipe was getting kinked when the bonnet was closed !
