They've stopped working!
More specifically, in between of getting out the car to check oil levels and then getting back in to put the car in the garage, something went awry with the wipers. I got back into the car to find the driver's side wiper lying limply to the driver's side and the passenger side lying over to the other side. I should be grateful that they waited until I got home before letting go, I suppose, rather than in the fast lane of a wet M6!
The motor sounds like it's still moving - or at least it makes the same noise as it does when the wipers worked properly - but the wipers don't move.
My initial (and probably hugely over-simplistic) guess was that whatever links the motor to the wipers had failed, and so they're not now connected to the motor. However, I suppose the fact that the motor sounds like normal doesn't mean that it actually IS working as normal.
Anyone experienced this problem? If so, what was the cause and - more importantly! - how much did it cost to rectify?
