Windscreen wipers not sweeping usual area?

Afternoon all

Noticed recently that my windscreen wipers don't sweep as far to the right (driver's side) as they used to, maybe an inch or so short of original stop location. Not a problem, I can still see fine, but it niggles me slightly. I seem to remember seeing something about the wipers jumping a notch on the mechanism, but can't now find any details. Can anyone point me in the right direction? If is a simple fix, i.e. take wipers off hub, rotate a couple of degrees and one notch on the cog, put back on?!
